1. Who we are

Service By Local (“SBL”, “the Platform”, “we”, “us”) is operated by SBL Digital Corporation Private Limited, based in Jharkhand, India. These Terms govern your use of the Service By Local website and app (together, the “Platform”).

2. What the Platform is — and isn’t

Service By Local is a zero-commission platform where independent providers build their own digital profile. It connects those providers — including on-site service technicians, home-visit artists, local material suppliers, and vehicle owner-drivers — directly with customers in their local area.

We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service arranged through the Platform. All agreements — including price, scope of work, and payment — are made directly and independently between the customer and the provider.

3. Accounts and eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Service By Local.
• You must provide accurate information when registering, including for identity verification.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

4. Provider verification and the personal-performance rule

Providers can complete Aadhaar-based KYC verification to display an “Aadhaar OK” badge and to show interest on requests posted to the feed. Regardless of verification status, every provider profile is bound by one non-negotiable rule:

• The individual who creates and verifies a provider profile must be the same individual who personally performs the service.
• A provider may not use their profile to send an employee, family member, or any other person to perform work on their behalf.
• Ownership of tools or equipment is not required to register — a provider may own, rent, or borrow the tools needed for their trade. Arranging tools and materials is solely the provider’s own responsibility.
• For skill-based labour categories (for example, mason or general labour work), where the “tool” is the provider’s own hands-on skill and materials are typically available at the worksite, no tool-ownership question applies — only the personal-performance declaration matters.
• Service By Local is not a platform for individuals seeking employment or job placement. Anyone looking to be hired as staff by a third party may not use the Platform in that capacity.
• Violation of this rule may result in immediate and permanent suspension of a provider’s account.

5. Requests, offers, and bookings

• Customers may post a service request describing their need and approximate location.
• Nearby verified providers are notified and may express interest or submit an offer, including price and estimated time of arrival.
• A customer’s exact identity and contact details are shared with a provider only after the customer confirms an offer.
• Service By Local does not process payments on behalf of users. Payment terms are agreed directly between the customer and the provider, outside the Platform.
• We are not a party to any agreement formed between a customer and a provider, and we do not guarantee that any request will receive an offer.

6. Prohibited conduct

• Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent profiles, requests, or offers.
• Attempting to circumvent identity verification.
• Sending another person to perform work booked under your provider profile.
• Using the Platform to solicit employment or recruit staff rather than to offer or request a direct service.
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
• Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

7. Content you submit

You retain ownership of the profile information, photos, and descriptions you submit, but you grant Service By Local a licence to display this content on the Platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace. You are responsible for ensuring your content is accurate and does not infringe on any third party’s rights.

8. Reviews and ratings

• Reviews and ratings submitted on the Platform must be genuine, factual, and based on an actual experience with a provider or customer.
• False, defamatory, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content is prohibited.
• We reserve the right to remove any review or rating that violates these guidelines.

9. Intellectual property

The Platform’s name, logo, design, and underlying software are the property of SBL Digital Corporation Private Limited and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission. This does not affect your ownership of the content you submit, as described above.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is.” We make reasonable efforts to verify provider identity through Aadhaar KYC, but we do not warrant the skill, conduct, punctuality, or work quality of any provider, nor the accuracy of any customer request. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SBL Digital Corporation Private Limited is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from a service arranged through the Platform.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any account, at our discretion, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the Platform.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

Users are encouraged to resolve disagreements directly with one another; the Platform acts only as a neutral intermediary and is not a party to such disputes. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any legal disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jharkhand, India.
